Module 802: Ethical Decision Making and the Code of Ethics

This is the second of three “ethics” modules. The focus of this module is to provide the individual with the tools necessary to ascertain when ethical dilemmas occur and provide a variety of tools to work through these dilemmas towards making a fair and defensible decision.

After successful completion of this session, students will be able to:

• explain the values and ethical principles of the vocational rehabilitation professional
• explain how these values lay the foundation of the ethical decision-making process
• identify how biases can affect once decision-making in an ethical dilemma
• identify different ethical decision-making models/principles
• apply an ethical decision-making model to an ethical dilemma
• apply steps to evaluate the decision you have made
