Return to StoreThis module addresses two of the most common assessment processes a vocational evaluator will likely encounter: the transferable skills analysis and the employability assessment. These two assessments are somewhat similar in their construct but serve different purposes.
This module is divided into two sections:
Part A – Transferable Skills Analysis
After successful completion of this session, participants will be able to:
- Define Transferable Skills Analysis (TSA) and its components;
- Define what a skill is and the 3 major category of skills;
- Identify the most effective times to utilize a TSA;
- Identify the components of a TSA;
- Identify ethical considerations;
- Identify resources and tools to conduct a Transferable Skills Analysis; and
- Identify methods to determine earning potential based on transferable skills and job availability in the individual’s geographic area.
Part B – Employability Assessment
After successful completion of this session, participants will be able to:
- Define Employability Skills and its components;
- Identify methods to assess employability skills;
- Identify documents needed for review;
- Define types of assessments (i.e. medical, functional, vocational, and ergonomic);
- Describe how to conduct a Job Analysis;
- Describe how to conduct a Labour Market Analysis; and
- Identify the resources helpful in conducting a Job and Labour Market Analysis.
